The name Huscy derives from "Human Science", replacing the 'i' with a 'y' because its Python based. Huscy is a modular backend system (as indicated by our logo) and bases on Django Webframework together with a modern frontend written in React.js.

- Backend: Django, Django-Rest-Framework
- Frontend: React, Redux, Fomantic-UI
The modules are released to PyPi and developed within the Atlassian tool chain. The source code is available from Bitbucket.
The dependency of the modules is carefully designed, so you might want to also use only a subset of the available functionality.
We also know that deployment can be crucial. We do our best to minimize operational effort but ensure maximum security as well. We will monitor all relevant CVE's (with the help of dependency-track) to our software and dependencies and publish updates as soon as possible. We will support you every step of the way.
The application was designed and developed by Mathias Goldau, Stefan Bunde, and Alexander Tyapkov. We are partly funded by the Max Planck Society (MPS) and the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig.
History
Initially, the first backend modules (appointments, projects, and bookings) were developed as a contribution to the Castellum project. Subsequently these modules were extended and new modules were implemented which demanded a modern frontend. This frontend, together with the backend modules, initiated the Huscy project.
